A Day in the Life of Euclid Creek
9:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Let’s take a snapshot of Euclid Creek starting in Acacia Reservation and ending at Wildwood Park, Euclid Creek Reservation, and see how the creek has changed since last year’s event. Demonstrations related to water quality monitoring will be given by natural resources staff, education specialists and volunteers. Join us at just one location or the entire day as we follow the creek from its headwaters to the confluence at Lake Erie.

9 – 10 am: Acacia Reservation (Cedar Rd. parking lot) - Chemistry Sampling Demonstration
Learn about water chemistry sampling.

10:45 - 11:45 am: Euclid Creek Reservation (Highland Picnic Area) - Macroinvertebrate Sampling Demonstration
Discover the world of macroinvertebrates (aquatic bugs!) and why they are a good measure of stream habitat quality. Water chemistry sampling demonstrations will also take place. Demos will occur near the bridge to the Upper Highland Picnic Area.

12:30 p.m. - 2:30 pm: Euclid Creek Reservation (Wildwood Park) - Electrofishing Sampling Demonstration
See a demonstration of electrofishing, a technique used to assess fish populations including numbers and species, and see some of the fish living in Euclid Creek. Water chemistry sampling demonstrations will also take place. Afterwards, enjoy a light lunch while hearing about the day's results and the health of Euclid Creek.
