PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH

America Reads FREE After School Tutoring
Students in K-12 can get assistance with their homework.  College students from Cleveland State University can assist with any subject and/or reseach project. Mondays-Thursdays from 3:00-6:00 p.m.

Kids Café Snack Program
The Cleveland Foodbank in collaboration with the Cleveland Public Library offers FREE after school snacks for ages 18 and under. Mondays-Fridays from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Fall Storytime (Sept 24-Nov 14)
Wee Read and Play
Continue to develop your toddler’s language and social skills! Toddlers from 18 months to 3 years and their favorite adult are invited for stories, active songs and rhymes and time for play. Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Growing Readers
Help grow your child’s early reading skills!  Children ages 3 – 5 are invited for stories, songs and rhymes that will help them become better readers later in life. Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

Teen Book Club
Join us for a discussion of a current teen fiction novel. Light refreshments served. Nov 4 & Dec 9 at 5:30 p.m.

Work Your Brain
We’re challenging your brains! Join us for brain teasers, games, and exercises. Thur, Nov 19 at 3:30 p.m


PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS

Ohio Benefit Bank
Find out how the OBB can assist with your basic needs. A representative is available at the branch on the last Monday of each month. The next assistance session will be held on Monday, November 24 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Making Video Slideshows
Whether you prefer Hollywood or the indie scene, you have the opportunity to become your own director.  The free Smilebox software makes it easy to celebrate, share and preserve the magic in life’s moments.  This lab will briefly show you how to create one-of-a-kind slideshows using photos from your PC or camera.  Feel free to bring your own camera or digital photos to try out new tricks or simply use digital photos that we provid.  Register by calling the Collinwood Branch at 216-623-6934 or TechCentral at 216-623-2980.Tuesday, November 19 at 3:00 p.m

Warm-Up Cleveland: Crochet Club
Crafting for a good cause! Join our fourth annual Warm-Up Cleveland campaign and help neighbors in need stay warm this winter. Donated items will be distributed to local charities this winter.  Drop off items at any Cleveland Public Library location.  Call 216-623-2921 for more information. Fridays: November 22 & December 20 at 4:30 p.m.

FREE GED Classes
Cuyahoga Community College offers free GED classes this fall 2013 at the Collinwood Branch. The classes meet twice weekly on the following dates:
November      4, 6, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27
December       2, 4, 9, 11
Mondays & Wednesdays from 12:30-2:30 p.m.

A special ABLE/GED orientation will be held at the branch on Tuesday, November 5 from 11:00-3:00 p.m.
