St. Jerome Students Benefit from the Generosity of Others

During the 2013-2014 school year, the Diocese of Cleveland urged all the parishes in the city to contribute to a grant project entitled Rooted in Faith. The donations made by the parishes were then collected, and a pool of resources was created. The teachers in the diocese where then able to write and submit grant proposals from a wide variety of categories. The faculty at St. Jerome School, in North Collinwood, worked in grant writing teams to acquire many new items for the school. Grants were written for new art supplies, technology equipment and finally brand new desks and chairs for every student in grades 1-6. The faculty and staff all agreed that it gave each classroom a clean, fresh look to start out the 2014-2015 school year with. Not to mention that all the chairs are bright green, which adds to the Gladiator’s school spirit! The school, which just celebrated its 92nd year of educating young men and women in the Cleveland and surrounding areas on September 1st, is stronger then ever. With enrollment the highest it’s been in 10 years, we are so proud to be able to offer the best possible environment for our students to learn in. Each classroom boasts SmartBoard technology that equally matches the impressive new furniture displayed in the classrooms. St. Jerome School is a pillar in the community whose primary focus is to enhance the whole child through prayer, service and 21st century learning. With the help of the Rooted in Faith grant we were able to continue doing what we’ve always done, mold and shape well-rounded individuals who work hard, pray often and serve the community.
