The Coit Rd Farmers' Market is Growing in the Neighborhood

You can find fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables at the Market Wednesdays 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Free cooking classes are Saturdays, July 11, July 25 and August 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will also be a class on Wednesday, July 15.  Mark your calendar for Saturday, August 8 for the Annual Cliff Schutz Corn Roast and BBQ from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. You’ll enjoy delicious Ohio sweet corn, BBQ and side dishes. The cost for a meat portion and two sides is $6. Vegetarian dishes will be available. 

Our newest urban farmer growing at the Coit Road Farmers Market site is Dawud Ummah. Dawud is a Gulf War veteran who recently returned to Cleveland after farming in Maine.  He joins Blayne Murray and Gloria Jahlil farming at the site.  To support our customers, Ohio Direction Card users get $20 in tokens to spend for the first $10 charged to their card.  The first WIC coupon distribution date at the Market is Saturday, July 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Market, located at the intersection of Coit and Woodworth Roads near East 152nd.  Call 216-249-5455 or go to www.coitmarket.org for additional information.
