Unearthed: Euclid Beach Sand Sculpture Contest

Bring your own tools or borrow ours, at this year’s Sand Sculpture Contest at Euclid Beach Park on August 1st, 2015.

Remember the good ol’ days of the Arts Collinwood Sand Castle Contest? We do, and together with Waterloo Arts we’re bringing it back in a big way this year at the 6th Annual Euclid Beach Blast at Euclid Beach Park.

Join local celebrity and Cleveland-based sand artist Carl Jara on the beach starting at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2015. Teams of 4 people, of any age and skill level, are encouraged to sign up online at www.euclidbeachblast.com OR the day of the event, by 6:00 p.m.

Judging will occur at 7:30 p.m. In addition to bragging rights, at stake in three prize categories are gift cards to local businesses including Star Pop, Chili Peppers, and East Coast Custard.

What is Euclid Beach Blast

Now into its sixth year, the Euclid Beach Blast! is a community organized, volunteer led event about celebrating community, creativity, living breathing history and having some Lake Erie Lovin’ Fun!

The event is entirely free to the public and supported by multiple community grants and in-kind donations of goods and services. Thanks to a broad marketing effort, the event attracts several thousand Greater Cleveland residents in addition to many North Collinwood neighbors. The event date is August 1, 2015 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. followed by a bonfire and story telling.  Featured activities include “Beachland at the Beach” bands, sunset yoga, fat tire bikes, chalk the walk, and more from local businesses and organizations!

This year, as part of Collinwood 2015’s health initiative, our event will also feature fitness and healthy eating options in our outdoor concession court and on site health screenings.

Can’t wait to see you having a Blast!
