Re-Envisioning North Collinwood

Did you know there are three major planning efforts happening in North Collinwood? Yes, you heard right, three. Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) is building a new O.H. Perry, there is a design process to give the East 185th Street Corridor a face lift, and there is a proposed bike lane on Lakeshore Blvd. Each of these plans had a public meeting in September.

In case you missed the meetings, here is a recap.

CMSD hosted a public meeting for the residents and families of O.H. Perry to meet the architects and find out initial needs and concerns about the site plan. The architects want to know what the residents think is best for the site. Should the building be located on the east or west side of the lot? Let Julia DiBaggio know what you think by contacting at jdibaggio@northeastshores.org.

Two days later, Northeast Shores hosted the E. 185th St. TLCI meeting. The planners shared the results from the public meeting this past February. The plan incorporates tree planting and intersection roundabouts, as well as long and short term solutions for the old Chevy lots. The plans are available for view at Memorial-Nottingham Library. Comments can be sent to John Boksanky at jboksansky@northeastshores.org.

The following week, there was a meeting for the proposed bike lane down Lakeshore Blvd. City Planning discussed how they would like to see a bike path progress down Lakeshore.  Bike Cleveland then spoke about the safety of having a bike path. Residents asked questions and shared their comment about the proposed lane.

Stay tuned for future meetings on all these topics. If you have questions, contact Northeast Shores at 216-481-7660.
