GardenWalk Cleveland 2017 comes to NorthShore Collinwood
The 2017 Gardenwalk Cleveland Tour will take place on July 8th and 9th from 10 am to 5 pm.
GardenWalk Cleveland is a free, self guided tour of more than 200 private and community gardens in four neighborhoods throughout the city of Cleveland. This year garden tours will be featured in Slavic Village, Detroit-Shoreway, West Park, and, for the first time, right here in NorthShore Collinwood.
The mission of GardenWalk is to build community, beautify neighborhoods, and encourage civic pride. This once a year tour is organized by volunteers from the city of Cleveland and surrounding communities. GardenWalk Cleveland is made possible due to the generous sponsorship of organizations and individuals committed to connecting people with each other and with nature in our beautiful neighborhoods. Visitors can tour at their own pace and will get a unique opportunity to meet and learn from gardeners in a large variety of gardens and farms in our community.
This year there will be a special focus on native plants that promote regional diversity, attract wildlife and pollinators, thrive under natural conditions, and connect people to nature in their own back yards.
The Headquarters to check in and receive the guide for our tour will be at the Euclid Beach picnic area. The table will be decorated with festive GardenWalk banners. On Saturday, the tour is collaborating with a Collinwood Community Potluck which is scheduled from 4-8 pm in the Picnic Pavilion, where visitors and gardeners can share dishes, and bounty from their gardens.
A variety of generous gardeners have volunteered to share their efforts with not only neighbors, but with visitors who quite possibly have never been to our amazing and unique community. Don't miss it, there are sure to be some surprises.
