This Month’s Program Highlights features:

New Lap Sit Program & Teen Circle

With the change in weather comes a change in programming! The month of February saw the branch begin a new series of programming for babies. Children’s Librarian, Adam Tully, is conducting weekly lap sit programs for children ages birth to 18 months. The program works with simple movements and rhymes meant to stimulate thinking and activity in your baby. The lap sit programs occur on Tuesday’s at 11:30am in the branch meeting room.

The other initiative is our new “Teen Circle” spearheaded by Ms. Peak who approached teens and asked them what they wanted to see in the branch for them, a discussion ensued with ground rules being set and games being ordered and the fun has begun.

Cleveland Museum of Art-In Your Neighborhood – Art Club!

Staff from the Cleveland Museum of Art will be joining here at Collinwood Branch for a fun and exciting art club. The theme for this programming will be about ‘A Room’. This will be an open ended workshop style class where the students will get to work and create their own art piece. Sessions are on Thursday’s at 4:30pm - March 8th, & April 12th

Coding a LEGO Maze

Take a step back from the PC to learn how to create simple, step-by-step instructions for your first ever coding program! With the help of LEGO’s – and a little bit of brain power – you will be on your way to mastering the latest technology craze.

Kids Café – After School Meal Program

In collaboration with the Cleveland Food Bank, Kids’ Café is being served!

Monday – Friday--3:30pm-4:30pm

FREE Tutoring in All subjects:  Grades K – 8--one-on-one and/or group tutoring and homework help offered in partnership with Cleveland State University’s America Reads tutoring services.  Monday – Thursday--3:00pm – 6:00pm

Adult Programs:

 

Common Sense Legal – A Free workshop hosted by The Legal Aid Society will be offered on Wednesday, March 14th from 12:20-3:30pm.  Please bring relevant papers with you to learn how to complete your legal documents.  Go to www.lasclev.org/March 2018CommonsenseLegal for a list of helpful documents.
