Supernatural places to visit in California

If you are going to take a trip to California and are interested in seeing things that are off the beaten path, like mystic places, lake monsters, haunted museums, ghost ships, and UFO hotspots, then "Supernatural California" by Preston Dennett, is for you. Although Bigfoot is pictured on the cover, this book is filled with so much more, because it is for every interest and age group, and it is a nice travel book to learn about mysterious places throughout the state.

There are seven chapters with many topics in each section, and the book is filled with photographs and illustrations.  It includes locations and contact information with addresses and even websites.

Some of the places you can visit and see are the Santa Cruz “Mystery Spot” where visitors “feel a strange force” and compass needles are deflected; the “gravity hills of Sonoma and Kagel Canyon” that defy the laws of gravity when you drive on them; ancient ruins like Mount Shasta, that is a place of miracles and sightings and an underground city; mysterious carved stones like the “Willits Rock” from 10,000 years ago; the “Trees of Mystery Park” in the Klamath National Forrest that grow at strange angles; the Elsionre lake monster; locations of apparitions in San Francisco and locations where healings have taken place; the California hum, “a low frequency humming noise that never goes away;” haunted museums and ghost ships like the Queen Mary; tarot readers and mediums that you can visit; California's UFO hotspots like Tujunga Canyon and Topanga Canyon, and lots more!

There are 164 pages in the book, and it is really fascinating. If you are interested in ghosts, you can find where to visit haunted roadways, museums, businesses and ghost towns, and even take a ghost tour.  If you are interested in legends, you can read about the many legends of buried treasure. If you are interested in UFOs you can visit the California coast where UFOs have been seen entering and exiting the ocean for over fifty years. And of course you can learn about creatures like California's Bigfoot and sea serpents.

"Supernatural California" has lots of facts about California and places to visit that you might not know about.

This is a really nice guidebook, and it is interesting to read even if you are only an armchair traveler!
