We're Hiring: AmeriCorps VISTA Position serving Greater Collinwood

Greater Collinwood Development Corporation is proud to announce we were awarded an AmeriCorps VISTA through Ohio CDC Association (OCDCA) AmeriCorps program. We are seeking a candidate for our new AmeriCorps VISTA position. This position will be one-year of service, the service year will begin June 10, 2019 and end June 8, 2020.

The VISTA duties will include: 

·         Coordinating the implementation of the neighborhood housing plan, focusing on the identified investment nodes, will integrate portions of CNVDC’s expanded service area in north Collinwood into the existing plan.

·         Assisting CNVDC staff cultivate greater communication between residents and CNVDC pertaining to housing needs/concerns in our community, foster a stronger relationship between CNVDC and other area organizations that work on housing stabilization / housing counseling, leading to greater collaboration with other Cleveland organizations.

·         Through use of the Case Western Reserve University’s NST Web App, the VISTA will capture neighborhood housing data, thereby strengthening the relationship between CNVDC and the Center on Urban Policy at Case. This will result in a more data-driven approach to neighborhood housing policy. The data collected will help support the marketing of homes redeveloped through the neighborhood housing plan,

·         Assisting CNVDC staff with employment resource development by scanning local resources for employment opportunities, and form partnerships for employment resources.

The Collinwood & Nottingham Villages Development Corporation is a non-profit organization created to preserve, promote, and protect the quality of life in our communities. We serve as an economic pump and liaison between businesses, industry, and residents. We work closely with our councilmen, political leaders, and city departments including the Departments of Safety, Health, Community and Economic Development,and Building & Housing. The corporation is operated by a board of trustees representing area residents, churches, business, and industry. Our office is located in Collinwood Village, staffed by 2 full-time and 3 part-time individuals. The corporation is funded through the City of Cleveland, as well as private donations, and other grants.
