E 185th Neighborhood Association / the Census! (And Other Things!)

Our September 10th meeting was once more very informational!

Councilman Polensek started us off, with updates on the Marcella sewer project (it's a 24 hour project, due to the tunneling they're doing), the new LED streetlights being installed throughout the neighborhood (call CPP if they seem to need adjustment), progress is being made on the dirt bike problem (if you have an address where you see these congregating - call & let the police know; someone doing this, has already helped.) He also urged everyone to return their Census form, as it impacts things like redistricting, federal & state dollars spent etc etc.

Our Fifth District Community Engagement Officers then also fielded questions & concerns from our members.

Krystal Sierra, from Greater Collinwood Development Corp, then filled us in on the new "Neighborhood Family Feud Game" coming up in October, as well as the latest Neighborhood survey. The survey also will help come up with questions, for the Family Feud. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/collinwoodconnects

Next up was Lauren Calevich, from the La Salle Arts & Media Center, with info on rentals - & the upcoming Open House.

Our main speaker for the evening was next, Audrey Wynne, from the Census Bureau. Audrey pointed out how important being part of the Census is, & was able to answer many questions about the Census. (By the way: the Census is hiring!)

As always, we invite you to check out your local Neighborhood Association - the meetings are always listed in the Community Meetings calendar here in the Collinwood Observer. This is your regular chance, to talk to both the Councilman, & our local Police District - & it's a great way to be active in this community of ours.

Look forward to seeing you! (And bring a neighbor!)

See you next month!
