The Greater Collinwood Development Corporation housing team covers a lot of territory and watches over thousands of structures from lake shore houses to large warehouses from by-gone industries to your part of the neighborhood.  Daily our team works to ensure that the housing stock adds value to where we live. But during these trying times we are here to be your resource. 

Currently all utilities have suspended the disruption of service. If you have had a recent disconnection you are eligible, most likely, to be reconnected. Please contact individual providers if you are experiencing a difficulty to have them assist you.

Currently all city trash collection and recycling will go on as scheduled.  PLEASE NOTE: There will be no bulk pick up in April.  Can may not be placed out before noon the day prior to pick up and must be removed by noon the next day.  Garbage cans must be placed further back than the porch and they may not rest against a neighboring structure for health reasons.  Please be considerate of your neighbors and make certain that all cans have their lids down to keep debris from flying down the street.

Cleveland Housing Court has issued a suspension on evictions.  HUD has stopped all evictions as well. No new cases will be filed in the next two months. Additionally, all criminal and civil cases will be re-scheduled into April.  Parties will be served new summons to appear in the mail.  If you have specific questions please call the Cleveland Municipal Court – Housing Division at 216.664.4295.

Many lenders will be allowing loan modifications under guidelines that will be coming from the federal government.  In the coming weeks we will be compiling resources to help households impacted by this crisis.  The first step will be to call your lender and see what they can do to help you. 

If you are currently on a payment plan for taxes with Cuyahoga County and you have been impacted they want to hear from you.  Please reach out to the Fiscal Office 216.443.7400 to talk to someone about your situation.  The county has suspended all owner occupant foreclosures for the next couple of months. County staff can give you the most current information on your property and point you in the direction of help.  You may be eligible to enter into a new payment plan.

Our team will be continuing their search for vacant and neglected properties. We work closely with Cleveland Building and Housing to make certain that homes and properties that need attention are getting it.  If you have problem vacant property near you and you want to make certain that we are aware of it you may call our staff.  While our team is working remotely during this emergency time we are picking up our calls.  You may reach out to us at 216.383.9772.  If you are a Ward 8 resident (Councilman Polensek) call Julia Roberts ext 211.
