Attention Mothers: Free M.O.M.S support group and parent education classes

Tabernacle Baptist Church, located at 326 East 156th Street,  is proud to announce that we will soon be offering  a M.O.M.S Support Group and Parent Education Classes for the Collinwood Community. The M.O.M.S classes begin June 21 at 1 pm and are scheduled to meet monthly.

As a contributing member of our proud community, Tabernacle Church seeks to offer support and hope to the parents and families that reside here. We are especially sensitive to the needs of our mothers in the community who face daily challenges with providing a healthy and nurturing environment for their children. We want to provide them with both emotional and spiritual support for their lives.

Therefore, we are providing this resource of support through our M.O.M.S Group at no cost to the mother. This group explores “hot topics” that are important to mothers, from a spiritual and Biblical perspective. The group  meets once a month and began on May 17, 2010, however, there are still seats available.

In addition, beginning September 13, we will be offering a Parent Education Class which meets at 1pm and runs for eight weeks. This group is taught by a licensed professional and will focus on specific family and childcare issues related to children six (6) to twelve (12) yrs. of age. The goal is to provide a positive foundation for parenting, thereby reducing the likelihood of abuse or neglect.  Although there is no cost for this group, parents will need to pre-register and make a commitment to attend for the entire 8 weeks. Certificates will be provided upon completion of the class.

We are blessed and excited to provide this much needed resource for the Collinwood Community.
