Upstage Players' Adult Murder Mystery fundraisers coming in October

Don’t miss your chance to witness the inspired acting performances of a select group of adult volunteers from one of Northeast Ohio’s hardest working children’s theatre companies, UpStage Players. Produced by special arrangement with The Lakeside Players, Tafton, PA, the group will perform three fundraising performances of the hilarious Polter-Heist, an audience-participation murder mystery comedy. These performances will take place in late October.

The UpStage Players’ Murder Mystery Troupe’s opening performance will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12th at Branches Art Gallery (18322 Lake Shore Blvd.; Cleveland). Admission to this special fundraiser is $30 per person or $50 per couple. Wine and cheese will be provided with admission, and fine art will be for sale. Seating is limited for this engagement, and the proceeds of this performance will directly benefit the children of UpStage Players.

The group’s second show will take place at Trader Jack’s (35901 Lake Shore Blvd.; Eastlake), and begin at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 13th. Admission to this fundraising performance is $20 per person, and includes appetizers. A cash bar will also be available. This will be a great opportunity for families from all over Northeast Ohio to enjoy a fun evening of mystery, food and fun. The proceeds of this performance will also directly benefit the children of UpStage Players.

The final murder mystery performance of the fall will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19th at the Wickliffe Public Library (1713 Lincoln Rd.; Wickliffe). Tickets can be purchased directly through the library.

Polter-Heist
is a show where everyone is trying to heist something—including stealing a ghost. Join Madame Zelda Von Schpookum, president of the Boogeyman Outreach Organization (BOO), and a host of wacky characters as they attempt to make contact with the ghost haunting the Mouldering Pines Inn. See Professor Lionel Spector become possessed by the spirit! Will the bickering innkeepers, Jim and Phyllis Lodge, kill each other before finding the lost treasure? Will FBI agents Smolder and Skullery, from the Hex Files division, solve the mystery of the haunted inn before another murder is committed? Polter-Heist is a hauntingly hilarious show that's perfect for this time of the year!

Upstage Players is a non-profit professional children's theatre group run by an all-volunteer staff in Cleveland, Ohio. This “teaching theatre” organization was founded in 1995 with 30 children and a vision to create love and respect for the arts. The mission of the group is the dedication to the child performer, instilling a love of theatre while building leadership and community.

The children of UpStage Players come from varied backgrounds and neighborhoods yet share the same drive to optimize their potential. Although the UpStage family has grown tremendously over the years, their no-cut policy remains unchanged. In addition, the diverse cast/crew of UpStage Players is lead by an unpaid staff and supported by an army of volunteers dedicated to transforming everyday kids into accomplished artists.
