Big changes are underway at Collinwood High School as a result of its selection for the first round of CMSD's Investment School strategy.

They're shoring up and streamlining. Starting in August, the school will have just two academies, an Advanced Placement academy led by Nick Scheibelhood, formerly of Lincoln-West, and a New Tech Academy, led by Christy Nickerson, recently of East Tech's engineering program.

The work is being led and coordinated by campus administrator Maria Carlson. An Atlanta native, she was recruited to the district a few years ago to lead the wraparound program at Lincoln-West. She is looking forward to working with our community to strengthen the new program.
