Thanksgiving Fun for Kids
Thanksgiving Fun, Thursday, November 19, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Memorial-Nottingham Library. This special program for kids will teach all about the history and meaning of Thanksgiving. How it started in Plymouth Massachusetts, as a way for the Pilgrims to celebrate the fall harvest with the Native Americans, who had helped them plant and learn to grow crops. At the first Thanksgiving, the Pilgrims and Native Americans celebrated the feast together, ate at the same tables and played games. Today’s Thanksgiving celebration is a lot different than the way it was when it first started.

Jeanne Coppola is a resident of the Collinwood neighborhood, and is interested in art and writing. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cleveland State University, where she was a writer for the multi-cultural student magazine, "The Vindicator."
