Announcing Registration for Summer Reading Club 2017
My name is Adam Tully and I’m the Children’s Librarian at the Collinwood Branch. I would like to invite children of all ages to participate in our Summer Reading Club - ‘Read Up! Rise Up! by Design’. This summer we are celebrating STREAM: Science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, and math all coming together in a grand design that makes learning fun. This 9-week program is free and for all ages. Children and teens complete reading logs, earn weekly prizes and compete with other readers in our grand prize drawings! Registration can be done by visiting us at the Branch, online (readingclub.cpl.org), or by finding us out in the community at the many events around Collinwood. Summer Reading Club ‘Read Up! Rise Up! By Design’ begins on Monday, June 5th at all Cleveland Public Library Branches.
Hold on, this summer is just heating up! The Collinwood Branch has designed three unique programs to showcase our community partners and artists of Collinwood:
- Tuesday, June 20th at 1:00pm Ballot Box winner Ben Smith will be guiding us through a Visual History of Recording Technology that will be fun for all ages.
- Tuesday, July 18th at 1:00pm Ballot Box winner Linda Zolten Wood and the Coit Road Farmers Market will be ‘teaming up’ to showcase Veggie Superheroes: Healthy Eating.
- Tuesday, August 1st at 1:00pm Twelve Literary Executive Director Daniel Gray-Kontar will host our first ever poetry lounge. The Art of Poetry: Your Voice in Spoken Word is a guide through different styles of poetry, different authors, and how you can find your unique voice.
