Dance All Day at the Slovenian Sausage Festival

Frank Azman of Cleveland’s Azman and Sons Meat Market competes at the 16th annual Slovenian Sausage Festival hosted by the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame, Wednesday, September 11, at SNPJ Farm in Kirtland, Ohio.

Polka your calories away at the 16th Annual Slovenian Sausage Festival, hosted by the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame. Polka bands and sausage-makers tempt you with seven hours of dining and dancing, from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. More than fifty accordionists and musicians are scheduled to appear. Bring your own squeezebox and join a jam session.

You can sample sausages from each vendor and then pick your winner. Prizes are awarded in the People's Choice and the juried Best of Fest categories. The top sausage-maker supplies the Thanksgiving Polka Weekend at the Marriott. Winners are presented at 6:00 p.m. Choose from an assortment of side dishes, desserts and refreshments from vendors and in the kitchen. Pick up a CD or souvenir tee-shirt at the Polka Pop-Up Shop.

Performers include Canada’s Polka King Walter Ostanek, Rob DeBlander, Joe Godina, Ron Likovic, Frank Stanger, Anthony Culkar, Patty C and the Guys, the Fairport Jammers, and a special Polka Hall of Fame All-Star orchestra.

SNPJ Farm is at 10946 Heath Road in Kirtland, Ohio, off Chardon Road (Route 6), three miles east of Route 306 and six miles west of Ohio Route 44.
