Karamu House Kicks Off Virtual Summer Programming For Youth

Karamu House has announced the kick off to its Arts Academy theatre enrichment summer programming, now offered online. Arts Academy will offer classes in vocal performance, dance and drama, and technical theatre studies like short film and costume design for youth entering grades 7-12.

Arts Academy will run in 4-week increments from June 1 - July 27 and will include one-on-one sessions, live classes and interactive activities online. Karamu House President and CEO Tony F. Sias says in a press release:

“Karamu House’s commitment to arts education dates back 105 years. While the pandemic has brought significant challenges and restrictions, Karamu has always adapted and evolved.

Taking our summer arts education experience online is just another way that Karamu is evolving to respond to the times.”
